This construction withstands the abrasion and punishment of rocks, roots, and trail debris whilst maintaining breathability. A built-in scree sleeve keeps feet protected from debris entry, particularly useful during technical descents or loose terrain. A zonal fit lock delivers a confident, secure fit, whilst a TPEE sock liner helps improve underfoot longevity across extended mileage.
Vibram® Megagrip Outsole with Compression-Moulded EVA
A Vibram® Megagrip outsole provides grip on any terrain, designed specifically for traction on wet and dry surfaces. This rubber compound maintains confident footing across varied trail conditions — loose gravel, wet rocks, muddy sections, hardpack. The compression-moulded EVA midsole offers lightweight cushioning designed for comfort that lasts across all-day efforts. At 33mm stack height with maximum cushioning, the midsole provides substantial protection from trail impact.
Altra's Roomiest Toe Box with Zero Drop
The Olympus 275 features Altra's roomiest toe box and zero drop platform, positioning feet for natural movement. The generous toe box allows toes to spread naturally during footstrike, whilst the zero drop (heel and forefoot at equal height) encourages natural running mechanics. This geometry works particularly well on technical trails where precise foot placement and natural proprioception matter.
